Accidents are preventable. Being a cautious driver is one thing. Being mindful of your car condition is another. It doesn’t matter how careful you are, if you equipment gives up on you, you won’t have control over your car. So, please routinely check the items below.
Check the Tires
Tires must be checked monthly. Examine the tyre treads for signs of wear and tear, such as bulges and bald spots. Check the tyre pressure and make necessary adjustments based on the PSI specified in your owner’s manual or on the driver’s side doorjamb.
Inspect the Battery
Make sure the battery connections are clean, and free of corrosion. Ensure sufficient battery water.
Check Wiper Blades, Defrosters and Heater
Checking your vehicle’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system is critical not only for your comfort, but also for safety. In the rain, you’ll need it for demisting so that your visibility isn’t compromised.
Check your wiper blades as well to make sure they aren’t cracked, broken, or leaving lines on your windshield. Wiper blades should be replaced every six months.
Make sure the brakes are in good condition
Brakes are critical. That goes without saying. Because of the amount of use they get, it is critical that they remain in good condition at all times.. Make sure your mechanic checks your brake fluid and brake disc every time you pay a visit. It’s suppose to be standard procedure, but ask anyway.
Check Your Lights
How often do you see a car with a broken light? The driver is probably unaware of it. You don’t want to be that kind of owner, because driving without sufficient illumination is downright dangerous.
Make sure all your lights are working. That includes your headlights, tail lights, brake lights, fog lights, and high-beams.. Clean your light lenses as well. Cloudy lights make it harder to see.
